Co-colouration Effects in the Systems of Metal(Ⅱ)-Rare Earth(Ⅲ)-Xanthene Dye and Their Influences on Photometric Determination of Metal Ions

After comparing the influences of each rare earth(Ⅲ),11 species of metal(Ⅱ)and 8 species of acidictriphenylmethane dye on the formation of coloured coordination compound in the system of Metal(Ⅱ)-RE(Ⅲ)-Dye,it was proven that the co-colouration effect can be caused only by the xanthene dyes(XD)con-taining substituting hydroxy.group on the ortho-position of etheric oxygen group.Besides,the radius of met-al(Ⅱ)must not be smaller than a definite limit;otherwise,no co-colouration appears.Furthermore,the acid-ity of medium is another important factor to affect co-colouration,Bromopyrogallol red causesco-colouration of Pb(Ⅱ)-RE(Ⅲ)only,owing to its higher chromophoric acidity;while alizarin violet causesco-colouration of M(Ⅱ)-RE(Ⅲ)(M=Pb,Ca,Sr and Ba),due to its lower chromophoric acidity.The condi-tions causing co-colouration,the regularities of co-colouration and the influences of co-colouration inphotometric determination of metals were discussed.     

Stability of AB5-type hydrogen storage alloys

In this paper, we deduced an empirical equation for predicting the stabilities of the hydrides of AB₅-type compounds with the consideration of the effects of geometrical factor and electric factor. The theoretical curves derived from this equation are in good agreement with the test results of La_1−xCa_xNi₅, Ml_1−xCa_xNi₅ and La_1−xCe_xNi₅ compounds. With this model, we can easily interpret the phenomenon that the initial partial substitution of R by Ca in R_1−xCa_xNi₅ (R is rare earth metal) compounds cause an increase of hydrogen desorption pressure to a maximum value, whereas in the range of larger Ca content x the hydrogen desorption pressure decreases with increasing x.

Dehydration of aldoximes on rare earth exchanged (La<Superscript>3+</Superscript>, Ce<Superscript>3+</Superscript>, RE<Superscript>3+</Superscript>, Sm<Superscript>3+</Superscript>) Na–Y zeolites: A facile route for the synthesis of nitriles

Rare earth exchanged Na–Y zeolites, H-mordenite, K-10 montmorillonite clay and amorphous silica-alumina were effectively employed for the continuous synthesis of nitriles. Dehydration of benzaldoxime and 4-methoxybenzaldoxime were carried out on these catalysts at 473 K. Benzonitrile (dehydration product) was obtained in near quantitative yield with benzaldoxime whereas; 4-methoxybenzaldoxime produces both Beckmann rearrangement (4-methoxyphenylformamide) as well as dehydration products (4-methoxy benzonitrile) in quantitative yields. The production of benzonitrile was near quantitative under heterogeneous reaction conditions. The optimal protocol allows nitriles to be synthesized in good yields through the dehydration of aldoximes. Time on stream (TOS) studies show decline in the activity of the catalysts due to neutralization of acid sites by the basic reactant and product molecules and water formed during the dehydration of aldoximes.

本文介绍农用聚乙烯调光膜的制造、性能和应用。通过将稀土络合物调光剂和其他功能助剂添加到聚乙烯树脂中，经挤出塑化吹胀成型制得调光膜。膜的拉伸强度（纵／横）、断裂伸长率（纵／横）和直角撕裂强度（纵／横）分别为１７．２／１６．１ＭＰａ、４１３／４５７％、８１／８６ｋＮ；用红、兰、绿色调光剂可分别制得主峰波长为６１６ｎｍ的红光膜、４３６ｎｍ的兰光膜和５４０ｎｍ的绿光膜，其中以红光膜最佳。经农田实际应用表明

Studies of structure and cycleability of LiMn2O4 and LiNd0.01Mn1.99O4 as cathode for Li-ion batteries

Lithium manganese oxides LiMn₂O₄ and rare earth elements doped LiNd_0.01Mn_1.99O₄ were synthesized by microwave method. The structure and the electrochemical performances of the samples were characterized. XRD data shows both samples exhibit the same pure spinel phase. But due to the introduction of Nd³⁺ ion into the unit cell, the lattice parameter of the Nd-doped spinel was larger than that of the undoped one. The two samples had a similar morphology including small particle size and homogeneous particle distribution as tested by SEM. The cyclic voltammmetry and constant-current charge-discharge tested that Nd-doped spinel displayed a better reversibility and cycleability.
